Dominion Earth for beginners: your first ten minutes
You can be flying in under a minute. This is what to do with the ten after that.
1. Take the lightest hull
Kestrel for Earth, Chariotship for the Dominion. It is the fastest ship in the game and turns at 180 degrees a second, which means a bad approach is recoverable. Heavier hulls are more forgiving of being hit and much less forgiving of being out of position, which is the mistake you will actually be making.
2. Pick an AI Ship Eradication sector
Bots fill both sides, so there is always a fight. Kill count is the simplest objective in the game and it teaches the two skills everything else rests on.
3. Learn to lead
Bolts travel. Firing at where a ship is means missing behind it. Aim where it is going. This is the whole difficulty curve of the game and it clicks in about one match.

4. Break off before you have to
Watch your hull bar, and watch theirs. A fight you are losing does not improve. Dock at a friendly base to repair — and while you are there, your score gets banked, which brings us to the mistake that costs new players the most.
The four things that kill new pilots
- Not banking. Score rides on your ship until you dock. A brilliant twenty minutes that ends in a wreck is worth nothing.
- Holding the trigger. Weapons overheat and lock out. Fire in bursts.
- Chasing. A lighter ship will out-turn you forever. Break off and take a better fight.
- Flying at everything head-on. Two ships closing head-on both take damage. The one who turned first is the one who lives.
Then try the other two modes
Once kill counts feel comfortable, take the heavy hull into a Base Annihilation match to learn strike runs under fire, and then a carrier into Total Occupation to learn the ground game. They are genuinely different games sharing one flight model.
And use your wing
In an AI sector the bots on your side take your orders. Even one command changes a match:
all attack the base
