Every ship in Dominion Earth

Ten hulls, five a side. The rosters mirror each other exactly on hull, armour, speed and turn rate — what differs is the guns they carry and what they are permitted to do.

Every point of hull costs speed and agility. That trade is the whole balance of the game: the 75-hull interceptors turn at 180°/s and die to one good burst, the 150-hull carriers turn at 90°/s and are the only ships that can take ground. There is no best ship, only a ship that suits the job in front of you.

Earth hulls

Kestrel · Earth

HULL 75 · ARMOUR 2 · SPEED 880 · TURN 180°/s

The fastest hull in the game and the thinnest. It out-turns everything at 180°/s, carries one gun type and dies to a short burst. Take it to chase down carriers and to arrive first; do not take it into a brawl you cannot leave.

Guns Disruptorgun across 2 mounts. Specials Mark I Torp ×5, Mine ×30.

Falcon · Earth

HULL 90 · ARMOUR 2 · SPEED 770 · TURN 160°/s

The compromise everyone settles on. Four mounts and pulse lasers on the sides mean it can hurt something it is not pointing at, and 90 hull survives a mistake the Kestrel would not.

Guns Disruptorgun, Pulse Laser across 4 mounts. Specials Mark II Torp ×5, Phoenix I Msl ×5, Mine ×30.

Hawk · Earth

HULL 100 · ARMOUR 2 · SPEED 660 · TURN 135°/s

Miniguns on the side mounts make this the ship that punishes anyone who crosses in front of it. A hundred hull and 135°/s put it squarely in the middle: slower than the fighters, tougher than they are.

Guns Disruptorgun, Minigun across 4 mounts. Specials Mark I Torp ×10, Phoenix I Msl ×5, Mine ×30.

Gyrfalcon · Earth

HULL 130 · ARMOUR 3 · SPEED 550 · TURN 115°/s

A gunship. Plasma up front, miniguns on the flanks, and the deepest special rack of any Earth fighter — ten Mark II torpedoes and ten Phoenix IIs. It is the ship that levels a starbase, and at 115°/s it is the ship an interceptor circles.

Guns Plasmagun, Minigun across 4 mounts. Specials Mark II Torp ×10, Phoenix II Msl ×10, Striker Msl ×5, Mine ×30.

Landing Ship · Earth

HULL 150 · ARMOUR 4 · SPEED 440 · TURN 90°/s · WARRIORS 1000

The only Earth hull that can take a planet: 1000 warriors, and warriors are the sole way to hold ground. It is also the slowest thing in the sky at 440, carries the Avenger warhead, and needs an escort — every enemy on the map knows what it is for.

Guns Plasmagun, Railgun across 4 mounts. Specials Mark III Torp ×15, Phoenix I Msl ×4, Striker Msl ×30, Avenger Nuke ×3, Mine ×30.

Dominion hulls

Chariotship · Dominion

HULL 75 · ARMOUR 2 · SPEED 880 · TURN 180°/s

The Dominion's interceptor and the Kestrel's mirror: same 75 hull, same 880 speed, same 180°/s. The difference is the tankergun, which hits harder per shot and rewards the pilot who can hold a firing line.

Guns Tankergun across 2 mounts. Specials Space Wasp ×5, Mine ×30.

Warriorship · Dominion

HULL 90 · ARMOUR 2 · SPEED 770 · TURN 160°/s

Rockguns on the flanks throw a wide spread that is forgiving at close range. At 90 hull and 770 it fills the same slot as the Falcon and plays coarser: less precision, more volume.

Guns Tankergun, Rockgun across 4 mounts. Specials Space Wasp ×10, Mine ×30.

Hoppership · Dominion

HULL 100 · ARMOUR 2 · SPEED 660 · TURN 135°/s · TRACTOR

The first Dominion hull with a tractor beam, which makes it the one that moves asteroids, recovers pods and drags things where they are not wanted. Plasma up front, rockguns on the sides.

Guns Plasmagun, Rockgun across 4 mounts. Specials Space Wasp ×15, Mine ×30.

Plasmaship · Dominion

HULL 130 · ARMOUR 3 · SPEED 550 · TURN 115°/s · TRACTOR

Heavy, tractor-equipped, and the only Dominion fighter carrying a ground-attack missile. At 130 hull and 3 armour it can sit under a satellite and keep working while a lighter hull would have to break off.

Guns Plasmagun, Tankergun across 4 mounts. Specials Space Wasp ×20, Plasma Msl ×5, Mine ×30.

Tankership · Dominion

HULL 150 · ARMOUR 4 · SPEED 440 · TURN 90°/s · WARRIORS 1000

The Dominion carrier: 1000 warriors, four plasma mounts and twenty ground missiles. Unlike Earth's Landing Ship it is armed like a warship on every facing, so catching one alone is not the free kill it looks like.

Guns Plasmagun across 4 mounts. Specials Space Wasp ×25, Plasma Msl ×20, Mine ×30.

Which ship should you fly?

If you are new, take the second hull on your side — the Falcon or the Warriorship. It has side guns, so you are not punished for failing to point at things, and 90 hull forgives one mistake. The interceptors reward flying you have not learnt yet, and the carriers are a job rather than a fight: slow, valuable, and hunted by everyone who sees them.

If your side is losing a Total Occupation match, someone has to take a carrier. Nine ground sectors do not capture themselves, and no amount of dogfighting takes a planet.
